Trainings, Workshops and Day Retreats
Living Arts is happy to be an NBCC ACEP to offer continuing education (CEs) for LCMHCs, LCSWs and other licensures that honor these CEs. Most of our trainings and workshops are held in-person to offer a more interactive experience that fosters learning. Spending hours talking with other psychotherapists is also a great way to network! Please reach out for flyers with details or to register.
Recurring Workshops
Our Private Practice Workshop, The Art of Ethics in Private practice and The Power of Groups and Intensives are all recurring workshops throughout the year with 2-3 offerings of each throughout the year. The Why Ketamine? Free 1-CE webinar is also frequently offered for all therapists (and open to community members) to be better informed about the pros and cons of different ways ketamine is used to treat mental health, substance misuse and other issues.
Living Arts has hosted over 10 Private Practice Workshops for new or soon-to-be solo private practice owners since 2021.
TOPICS: Responsibility/threats connected to AI Bots. Elevator Speech, S.W.O.T. Analysis, The 4 Stages & Building Blocks of the Project Plan, Time Management & Organization Skills, Importance of Service Gaps & Needs, Local Trends: Threats & Opportunities, Diversification – Specialties & Verticals, Operations Best Practice, Documentation & Stakeholder Requirements, Insurance vs. Private Pay, Fee Setting, Saving Money, Branding You, Smart Marketing, Effective Networking, Managing the Imposter, The Burn Months, Tracking KPI’s, Business vs. Clinical Skills, CQI, Growth & Layering and The Top 10 Mistakes.
As Private Practice owners we are accountable to multiple stakeholders - ethically, contractually &/or legally – such as our Clients, Professional Board, State & Federal, and in some cases Group Practice Owners.
We have unique challenges in Private Practice related to dual roles, boundaries, financial decisions, marketing, social media, discharging “bad fit” clients and too often when our clinical judgement bumps into the business owner’s bottom line.
This workshop is designed to be interactive and provide all of the LCSW/LCMHC required Ethics Hours but have you leave with a framework for thinking and other information that you can use.
Considering adding groups to your practice? “Power of Groups” is a 6 hr. CE workshop will cover topics such as “Your Best Group” which looks at selecting group type, focus population and purpose. “Group Design” folds in the clinical and knowledge of group stages for create the content of each group and extras that help differentiate your group. “Getting the Word Out” includes matching with community need, reducing barriers to “yes,” increasing inquiries and marketing/communications. “Group Operations” looks at the non-clinical aspects of creating a successful group program. “Group Management” addresses a lot of what makes potential group leaders worry: managing challenging client situations, preparing for the unknown, and maintaining attendance.
